Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

Today is Dr. Seuss’s birthday! We hope that you pick up your favorite book (doesn’t have to be by Dr. Seuss) and read. That’s what Read Across America is all about: Promoting literacy! Make Dr. Seuss proud and get out there and read! Our little patrons had a blast making Dr. Seuss themed crafts. We hope that you join us for next year’s Read Across America! #ReadAcrossAmericaDay #Dr.SeussDay

We here at your Richard Burges Library wish you the very best this holiday season! We look forward to seeing you this Saturday, Dec. 17th when Santa visits at 11 AM.

Don’t forget that the Friends of the Library will be having their sale from 10 AM – 2 PM

Did you know that today is National Ugly Christmas Sweater day? We’re wearing our ugliest sweaters today. If you’d like to join in the fun but don’t know where to start, here are some tips:

  • Any animals or cartoon character with a holiday theme is a good focal point.
  • Use clashing colors. The gaudier, the better!
  • Add tinsel, garland, lights, sequins, glitter, bells.

If you wear an ugly christmas sweater this holiday season and post it on social media, use #ChristmasSweaterDay to show off your creation.
